Today we get together for the last tasting of 2022. We tasted Baardseth XO, we had this bottle before and it's fun to try it again and compare our notes and scores.
This Petite Champagne Single Cru is a blend of 10-20 year old Cognac. This is a much warmer (feeling) and fuller style of Cognac compared to the VSOP.
Baked apple upfront gives this Cognac a warmness, like sitting by a fire with a light blanket. From the oak, the libation really picks up a floral characteristics that adds to the warmth of the experience. On the finish, toasted toffee and coco bean add richness.
